Launched in September of 2006, this site was envisioned as an alternative to mainstream gaming sites, many of which have reduced constructive criticism of this burgeoning art form and large-scale entertainment industry to an overly-simplistic marketing tool.

At 5WG, co-founders Shawn Drotar and Mark Fossen believe that modern gaming is a sophisticated and vibrant experience for both game designers and game players, and as such, deserves thoughtful examination without bias.

We hope you enjoy what you find here, and we encourage you to participate, as well.
