I’m traveling Sunday afternoon to metro Vancouver for the Monday-Tuesday FIFA 09 Global Community Event at the EA Canada studio in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The soccer pitch shown in this picture sits atop part of the EA Canada studio’s parking garage, and though I’m certain that the roughly 20 attendees representing seven different countries (USA, UK, France, Germany, Poland, the Nederlands and the Czech Republic) will be spending almost all of our time in conference rooms with the game and it’s developers, I can’t help but imagine how much fun it might be to grab some of the game’s Canadian designers and take a run at our own “Eight Nations” game.

Instead of skilled soccer players, you’d have a bunch of flat-footed gamers risking hyperventilation - but it’s all for love of the game, right?

I’ll be traveling back to Colorado on Tuesday and expect to have (barring any pending non-disclosure agreements) much to discuss regarding the upcoming FIFA Soccer 09 on Wednesday. See you then.
